Instant Pot Cooking Times Cheat Sheet

Basic Instant Pot Tips:

  1. How to Avoid Instant Pot Burns (and how to clean off burns & save your food)
  2. Usually I immediately press “Saute” when starting the cooking process in the Instant Pot.  After pressing “Saute”, there may be 5-10 minutes of time before the Instant Pot reaches “HOT.” During this time, I do some prepping.  Heating up the Instant Pot earlier helps it come to pressure faster later on when I have all the ingredients in the pot and ready to pressure cook.  So overall this reduces the “cooking” time.
  3. If the pressure cooking time is less than 10minutes, I oftentimes like to add carrots for an easy veggie side dish!

The first time I had quinoa was in Peru, while hiking Machu Picchu. I really liked the light, fluffy texture and the nutty taste of quinoa. A year ago, I bought a bag of 4.5 pound bag of quinoa from Costco, thinking it could replace the nutrition-less white rice that my family loves. I was …
